Horse Trailer Sauna Conversion
We took an old horse trailer from the 80s, gutted it, renovated it, and converted it into a fully functioning and mobile wood burning sauna complete with wood storage, a pressurized road shower, and solar lighting.
This hot room interior measured at about 9' long, 7' tall, and 6' wide and is lined with western red cedar. The top bench uses clear cedar, making for a clean finish and measures at 24" wide so you have plenty of room to lie down. This sauna features a classic Kuuma wood stove made by Lamppa Manufacturing.
This sauna features indirect overhead lighting using solar power, allowing this unit to be completely off grid. Other unique features include a hidden firewood storage box, which lives under the benches and is accessed from a panel on the outside of the hot room, keeping the mess and debris of firewood contained. A pressurized road shower is mounted to the exterior of the sauna, meaning you can cool down and rinse off easily even if you are not near a body of water.
